The Latin Recording Academy announced that Shakira will be Person of the year for her success both artistic and philanthropic. Three-time Latin Grammy nominee recently, winner of seven Latin Grammys, won two Grammys and undoubted international star and renowned philanthropist, Shakira, be recognized as the Person of the Year 2011 From The Latin Recording Academy announced the Academy.
Shakira, who received three nominations this year including Album of the Year, was chosen for her outstanding artistic achievements and charity will receive the honor at a gala dinner and concert with the participation of many stars. A large percentage of the net proceeds of this evening will benefit the work of the Barefoot Foundation, as well as education programs of The Latin Recording Academy.
She has performed at numerous benefit concerts in 2007 was presented at the Clinton Global Initiative and managed a $ 40 million by the Spanish government to help victims of natural disasters and additional $ 5 million to be donated to four countries in Latin America to help with education and health.
